I’m looking for…..

Some things.... Yes, I know I start early, I like to do that. But I'm looking for a few things now, so that I may plan ahead...

Everything I'm asking for needs to have teacher/student editions to them. I can't do it without them. Next to each thing, I've added what we are using right now to help you. And, if possible, for little to no cost... or as much as you can part with. At the end of this, I will have a "Trade" section--I'm willing to trade anything I've got for anything you are giving me, as long as it is resonable in shipping costs...

LOOKING FOR:

Sixth grade:
Vocabulary

Anything else you might have for 6th grade in the form of electives.

TENTH GRADE:

Health (please not religious. Straightforward health)
Art History
Home Ec (anything that teaches day to day stuff, sewing, Culinary, etc.)
Music History
Spelling and or Vocabulary (she really needs this)
Algebra 1--I REALLY WANT Teaching Textbooks Algebra 1 set. This is the reason I am doing all I can to trade and maneuver my books. I am hoping someone has this set and sees something of mine that they are willing to trade me on.

And any other electives you might have.

WILL TRADE:
FOUR 3 ring binder book set called Wildlife Explorer. Not complete by any means, but each of the 4 binders are almost full to capacity. Shipping for all four will be a bit costly, but worth it in trade.

History of the World: A HUGE Tome of a book at almost 1,000 pages long. Bought at Walden Books some time ago. Not a text, but rather a reference. Book weighs almost 10 pounds.

The DK Science Encyclopedia: A small-medium Tome of a book, weighs roughly 4 lbs, about 500 pages.

Internet-Linked Usborne Encyclopedia of Ancient Egypt: As it says, internet linked Usborne reference book.

Internet-Linked Usborne Ancient World: Same as the above book, only about the Ancient world.

Complete Works of Edgar Allan Poe: I have two of these. His complete works.

Adventures in English Literature-- Student textbook, public school book

From PCDI--Art Course, 11 study units. Ranging from two-dimensional to Cartooning. This was my course I took and I no longer need the books.

Encyclopedia of World Facts: just a reference book.

To the Edge of the Universe: The Exploration of Outer Space with NASA: Cool book by NASA, with cool pictures from space.

The Atlas of Archaeology: Just a DK book about archaeology.

Singapore Science 5A: workbook, student book and answer key. (This is brand new, never used, btw)

4th edition of Homeschool, High School and Beyond with CD-Rom.

AOP Lifepacs Drawing Basics with Thomas Kinkade: Teacher, all student books and the dvd.

Workbook called The complete book of arts and crafts for ages 5-9. Well used, well loved, some pages are falling out, but still very usable and all pages there.

An old Spectrum Mathematics Yellow book workbook. 5th grade. My daughter is using the new one now and I just compared both and they are the exact same thing. The old one's pages are a bit yellowed, but clean and no writing inside.

Essential Homeschooling: An "everything you need to know" type book.

Three books: The Handy Biology, Science, History Answer Books.

The All Hands On Deck set that was free online. A boy thing, honestly. :) It's about Old Ironsides.

I do have an Algebra 1 student/teacher/workbook set that is textbooks. I will also throw this in to the mix IF I can find TTAlgebra. I really need the format TT offers.

We can either pay the shipping ourselves and just flat out trade or we can "charge" each other shipping and trade that way.

As you can see, I'm really pimping my stuff out as best I can just for the sole reason of finding Teaching Textbooks Algebra 1. I've got pretty much everything that was NOT mentioned, covered.

I'm shilling now, so that I can hopefully find TTAlgebra. Oh please someone out there have mercy on me!! :)

I'm also cross-posting this on a few boards I know of. It is all first come first serve.

It’s Funny…

Mood : amused

How life throws you curve balls sometimes. What's even funnier, is when you score a base hit off of those curve balls.

Since I know those "curve balls" are going to be reading, let me state, up front, that I, in no way, intended my posting to be some kind of "joke" or "set up" (what the hell would I be setting you up for?). I was seriously posting to post. I came to that message board long before you did and I was a part of that community long before you were. What is sad, and not funny, is that perfectly wonderful Christian women are going to be associated with the likes of you.

See, now that's bashing. Never did I ever bash that board. Another one, yes. But I never specifically bashed that board. Unless of course, these women are reading more than they let on to be reading. Which, I gather as more truthful than they care to admit.

Oh, fudge it. Bridges will be burnt. End of story. Pathetic, truly pathetic.

Here's a funny:
(read it all the way through)

10 Reasons Why Gay Marriage is Wrong

1) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.

2) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

3) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.

4) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.

5) Straight marriage would be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Brittany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.

6) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.

7) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

8) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.

9) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.

10) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.

Repost this if you'd like fundamentalist Christians to stop freaking out about everything.
